Excellent news at Chepstow-based Mabey Bridge which has announced that it will supply structures for the National Grid new generation pylon. These new structures stand at 35 metres and are over 15 metres shorter than traditional pylons and are a significant change to the traditional lattice structures that currently cover the British countryside.
Mark Coia, managing director of Mabey Bridge Energy & Marine, said: “We are extremely proud to manufacture these exciting new electricity pylon designs for National Grid.
The new pylons were designed by Copenhagen-based Bystrup at part of an international competition organised by the department for energy and climate change, the Royal Institute of British Architects and National Grid.
