Newport-based SPTS Technologies, a supplier of advanced wafer processing solutions, has won an order, worth approximately $16m, for multiple etch and deposition systems from WIN Semiconductors Corp.
“We are proud to have been a supplier to WIN since their inception in 1999,” said Kevin Crofton, president of SPTS and corporate vice president at Orbotech.
“They recently announced their millionth GaAs wafer shipment, and our systems have added value to every one of those wafers. Over those 16 years, our technology roadmaps have been shaped by leaders such as WIN, and this repeat order confirms that our etch and deposition solutions continue to deliver production advantages to our customers”
Formed in 2009, SPTS brings together over 40 years wafer processing experience from companies including Trikon Technologies, STS, and Aviza Technology. The solutions offered by SPTS include industry leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and MOCVD. SPTS supplies wafer processing equipment and technologies to the world’s leading semiconductor and microelectronic device manufacturers and research institutions, offering dedicated local sales and customer support through a network of international offices and agents. Under agreement with SPP Technologies, Ltd., SPTS also offers APCVD solutions and a range of large batch vertical furnaces.
