The Welsh Government has announced six new anchor companies to support its target economic sectors for growth within the manufacturing and life sciences sectors in Wales
Anchor companies are global or international organisations which already have a major company presence in the Principality and who will work with the Welsh Assembly to create economic growth.
Rhys Williams Managing Director of Sigma Recruitment, the specialist manufacturing and engineering recruitment agency based in Cardiff commenting on the support stated: ” It is excellent to see the Welsh government supporting manufacturing growth in Wales, a vibrant manufacturing sector helps kickstart the rest of the economy and provides essential jobs for Welsh industry”.
The six new anchor companies include Boparan Holdings (food sector); JCB (advanced materials and manufacturing sector); SPTS Technologies Ltd based in Newport (technology sector); Redrow Plc, Ewloe (construction sector); Ortho Clinical Diagnostics based in Felindre (life sciences sector); and Packaging Coordinators located in Hay-on-Wye (life sciences sector).
