All the latest automotive recruitment news in Wales.

Tim Williams the chief executive of the Wales Automotive Forum (WAF) has said that these are exciting times for the automotive industry in Wales.

In a recent interview he revealed that there had been an expectation that car giant Jaguar Landrover (JLR) could be enticed to open a plant here, which unfortunately came to nothing. This was followed by  the Prime Minister’s announcement that the luxury car maker Aston Martin was looking at the possibility of coming to Wales, which revealed that the Welsh Government was in negotiations with the Gaydon-based company.

This, and the current state of the automotive industry in Wales, provides  Tim Williams much optimism for its future.

Talking about Aston Martin he said: “The Welsh Government is still in talks about the company setting up a production facility at St Athan. Aston Martin is looking for a UK facility and Wales is a potential location for the building of a new, top-end luxury vehicle.

“The Welsh Government has made an offer of assistance. What a fantastic story it would be for Wales to have an iconic vehicle maker and what a great opportunity for the supply chain, which is where the WAF stands and why it exists.”
