Sony in Bridgend have proudly announced that the majority of video cameras used to film this year’s football World Cup action have been made at the Bridgend plant.
Technicians at the Pencoed based manufacturing plant are set to configure all the video equipment to be used for the tournament in Brazil. In addition, the majority of filming equipment including video cameras was manufactured at the site.
At a recent Cardiff Business Club event Sir Howard Stringer former Sony CEO, stated that the Bridgend manufacturing facility was “probably the most profitable part of Sony Electronics”, and “the best expression of entrepreneurialism” in the division.
