Top Welsh industrialist Duncan Barber, chief executive of aviation services business AMSS Wales has stressed that Wales should put more importance on engineering, training and apprenticeships. AMSS which was established in 1975 – designs and manufactures military and civil ground support equipment around for the aircraft industry worldwide.
Mr. Barber states “I believe Wales should concentrate more on engineering because of the recognised skill base and desire for engineering apprenticeships. “There is now too much emphasis on the computer industry where there is global competition”.
